sapphire904 asked:

Monthly rates reasonable, very good support and storage. More cool features. There are many web host companies out there. What are the best for small businesses? Some more details – the trade is selling & Art, photography, so I need a feature and one of the Paypal shopping cart, etc.. The other trade is a trade-based service where people do not buy on our site, but just go there to observe our company info and contact us for appts. Thank you!

So many web hosting companies to choose from and really the best for “small business” depends on what your small business site is about.

Do you need the site to support PHP? ASP? Do you need a database? mySQL?

How much traffic do you expect? This all can factor in which one to choose.

Personally I use HostMonster, Netfirms and Domains at Retail.

    I recommend one of these:

Powweb is on a 50% sale – $3.88/month ($46.56/year), and you get a free domain from them.

Godaddy doesn’t offer a free domain, but you can get one for $2.19 if you’re buying hosting from them, plus they also have a 20% sale at the moment. The Deluxe plan has monthly payment option – $6.99/month.

I would recommend as they are affordable and provide very high quality hosting services. I’ve been hosting with them for quite a while, it was a good choice for me.

Different kind of website require different kind of hosting. If anybody says that one or two hosts are the best in the world, don’t believe them. If you are having problem choosing a web hosting to use, I suggest you do the following:

    1. Go to the webhost review sites such as webhostingjury, hostingsthatuck.com or webhostinggeeks and list down about 3 to 5 common top hosting companies.

    2. Next, for each web hosting X, do a “X sucks” search on Google. Read some complaints and see if you may encounter the same problems like them. Some of the complaints may relate to certain groups of users only such as VPS, dedicated server users or resellers. So you may not be affected if you are not from these categories. You also do this to remove the web hosts who paid to get on top of some review sites.

    3. Eliminate those hostings you feel uncomfortable with, and look for the best bargain hosting for your money and requirements.

If you need a shopping, most of them will have somekind of one-click install for one of the popular shopping cart applications. You can start with Justhost, Fatcow and Bluehost in your research.

    Good luck.

HostGator is The best choice to start with ….
Get First Month For Only 0.01 $
Hostgator is solid and you can have unlimted addon domains too
Hostgator is about the best you can get with shared hosting
Yeah…. For less than $10 per month, you can host as many domain name as you want.
I use hostgator myself, because I like how much they give you to start with so you can grow before you need to upgrade, but there’s plenty of room to upgrade as well. Good support, live chat if you want to ask them anything – even before you buy. My account was activated within 10 minutes and they replied to support tickets promptly.
Hostgator offers different size plans so you can start small and upgrade as needed.

It must be Yahoo web hosting since they have very good servers. Correct me if I am wrong.

Maybe Google web hosting if they have one.

Well any day there is nothing like a virtual server or a dedicated hosting. You definitely need them for an ecommerce site. But they all come for a price. For any startup the first requirement has to be to keep the costs down. IT IS NOT EASY TO FIND TRAFFIC TO YOUR SITE & THEN CONVERT IT INTO SALES. It takes a lot of time to build that traffic. My suggestion is that you opt for any low cost shared hosting. I suggest. Everything unlimited & for $3 something, You will find everything unlimited here at a very low price. You can read a review here:. I myself have 13 sites hosted here under one account.

Next you need to setup an open Source e-Commerce CMS. I suggest Magento. You can also try oScommerce. They have all features you can ever imagine for an e-commerce site, with shopping carts, payment gateways, promotion things, etc etc.

If you still have questions you can write to me in person: earthtechie[at]gmail.com.

    Regards
    Mangal

PS: I can do all this stuff for you for just $300. We can do a Web conference & workout things, Else you can always write to me for a free consultancy.

    Hello.
I’m not really sure what you need. I’d like to recommend
Looks like it is a new company. I’ve been only 3 month with them. So far everything is perfect.
I’ve got a promotion code for that company- 100CN15. It gives you 15% discount off any order $100 or more.
I think they have even better prices then godaddy does.
I hope it will help you.

If it’s a small business and needn’t large storage, I advice you to choose a cheap one. Justhost, powweb and lunarpages basic hosting are all better choice if you need php problem. Easycig support php and asp problem. The price is about $4.95/month. Some reviews about them on the web.

Hi, After exploring & trying many web hosting companies on internet, I got one most best company in my opinions. If you wana try this just hit following link to sign up

  19. on 23 May 2009 at 7:49 pm smartguy911_911

Yes there are tons of web hosting companies out there and trust me it’s not fun moving from one to another one due to bad support, downtime etc.

First, I recommend you visit the following url, so you can decide which one to pick -

I personally recommend trying webhostingpad because it comes with unlimited space, bandwidth, php, mysql, domain hosting, free domain etc.

You can get the coupon to save you few extra $$ at the following url -

As for shopping cart, you can look into x-cart, interspire shopping cart or cubecart. I think interspire is the easiest to use and it offers very simply layout.

Another reason for recommended webhostingpad is because they allow multiple domain hosting. So, you can host multiple business sites under one account and this will come in handy for your second site.

    I recommend and personally use:
They have unlimited space and transfer, this will work well for your art and photography if you decide you want to get very graphical.
They give you a free domain for life.
They have php and mysql which you will need for your business to support the shopping carts and Paylpal features.
You can also add as many domains (.com, .net, …) as you like so you can have many different sites for 1 hosting price.
They also give you free $50 Google Credits for advertising your site.
They have several shopping carts and many other features.
They cost $5.95 so it shouldn’t break your budget, but that’s enough from me, if you want to know more about the features, I recommend going and having a look.

If you go with them and have any trouble making your site feel free to PM me, I have a lot of experience there.

Whatever you choose, the best luck to you.

Your best bet (and best answer) would be to go with HostGator.

I found a site that offers you $50 Cash Back, a discount code so you can sign up with them for business class hosting today for only one cent!

They also give you some added bonuses to help you out if you are starting a business.

Hosting plans come with free templates, and you can even start your own hosting company with their reseller plan.

To get those bonuses and $50 just for giving them a try, go to this site:

Host Gator also offers a 45 day money back guarantee, more than any other host i know of. so if you don’t like them, you’re not out anything.

Good luck with your new business, by the way, i’ve used hostgator for my business website hosting for 3 years now and never had a problem.

If you like to create websites (usually you will end up more than 1 website, I got more than 100 websites in about 6 months’ time), go for multiple web hosting services where you could host all your websites in one account.

I would like to suggest following webhosting which I use, they are excellent.

    Hostmonster

They offer hosting of “unlimited domains” and you will get massive webspace of 1500000 MB (1500 GB ). They only charge $5.95/month and they offer “a free Domain Name” and installing service called “Fantastico”. By using Fantastico, you could create own forum, photo gallery, shopping cart (e-commerce),your own auction site and your own blogs within few seconds. They also offer “Free Website Builder” as well.
Visit the site to check details.

    Hostmonster
